Premiership clubs set to call out Park to produce ‘explosive dossier’

|

Douglas Park is facing calls to reveal details of the dossier that has forced the SPFL to host an EGM on May 12.

It is now three weeks since the interim Ibrox chairman called for the suspensions of Neil Doncaster and Rod McKenzie based on the evidence obtained from a whistle-blower.

That evidence has now evolved into a dossier but unusually absolutely no-one has managed to obtain any details of its contents.

Over the years the Daily Record has enjoyed a regular flow of information from various Ibrox regimes but looking ahead to a Premiership conference call this afternoon they report:

It’s anticipated Rangers will face calls from fellow teams to hand over the dossier of overwhelming evidence which they claim to possess and to detail their specific concerns.

The Ibrox club require at least eight of the 12 to back their requisition – with eight Championship votes and another 15 from across League One and Two also needed.

But the numbers are heavily stacked against bankrolling a QC investigation, with only Hearts and Stranraer committed to backing the proposal.

Which is why a number of Premiership clubs are set to call on Rangers to hand over whatever information they have.

One club source said: “First and foremost, a number of clubs want to know what Rangers claim to have against the guys in charge of the SPFL.

“How can anyone be reasonably expected to take Rangers’ side when they haven’t got a clue what the accusations are, who they are being levelled against and on what basis?

“If it is as damning as is being claimed then they will be backed to the hilt as no clubs wants to be part of a corrupt game.

“But the allegations are so serious that they really need to be backed up. This is, quite literally no time for playing games.”

Despite the claims of widespread support from BBC Scotland and other Ibrox friendly outlets no club other than Hearts and Stranraer have backed the call for an Independent Investigation into the SPFL vote to call the leagues based on average points per game.
