Scott Brown has tipped James Forrest to become Celtic’s all-time record medal winner.

Both players have played throughout the 9-in-a-row run with the last four years adding an incredible 11 winners’ medals to their career tally.

Forrest has got six years in hand on his skipper with Bobby Lennox’s total of 25 winners medals within sight for both men.

Brown is on 21 medals, Forrest two behind with both men central to Neil Lennon’s plans for next season where four medals are up for grabs with the two Scottish Cup Finals likely.

Brown told The Sun:

For me, Jamesy is the underdog. He can go a long, long way more yet. He’s only 28, just about to turn 29 and still has plenty of years to go winning trophies.

Jamesy has been incredible and, for me, he’s been a breath of fresh air every time he steps onto that park. He’s been the best at what he does in the SPFL for many years.

I was just so glad last season that it was recognised when he won the Player of the Year awards.

Brown also has a League Cup winners medal from his time at Hibs with his Celtic collection starting in 2008 when Gordon Strachan’s side won the title on an emotional Thursday night at Tannadice.

Billy McNeill is currently second on the medal table with 23, the hoops legend made his first team debut in 1958 but packed his collection into the decade between 1965 and 1975.
