Jack Hendry is wanted by Belgian side KV Oostende.

The defender moved to Melbourne City on loan at the end of January but suffered a knee injury towards the end of his second match. After undergoing surgery in Australia Hendry is back training with Celtic.

His Celtic prospects didn’t seem to improve under Neil Lennon, he made just one substitute appearance last season with Nir Bitton and Hatem Abd Elhamed picked ahead of him for central defensive slots.

The Daily Record reports:

KV Oostende are keen on a loan move for Celtic’s Jack Hendry. The Belgian top-flight side have expressed an interest in taking the Celtic defender for the new season.

Hendry is in pre-season training with Celtic. The Scotland cap is being eased back in after a knee surgery suffered last season while on loan at Melbourne City.

Oostende, who narrowly avoided relegation, are looking to rebuild. The West Flanders outfit are owned by the same group who control English Championship side Barnsley.

Hendry joined Celtic at the end of the January 2018 transfer window after impressing Brendan Rodgers while playing for Dundee.

Although signed as a central defender he mainly played at right-back as Celtic sealed the SPFL title.

The emergence of Kris Ajer followed by the signing of Filip Benkovic on loan effectively closed the door on his Celtic hopes even though he is under contract until May 2022.
