Marian Shved has been linked with a move to Ferencvaros, most likely on loan.

In the final move of the January 2019 transfer window the winger arrived at Celtic before being packed off on loan back to Karpaty Lviv.

Brendan Rodgers initially commented on ‘already having a million wingers’ when he was asked about Celtic’s interest in Shved, within a month of the signing being completed Rodgers had moved to Leicester.

After three brief substitute appearances, including a debut goal against Nomme Kalju it seems that there is genuine interest in the winger with his Celtic prospects looking bleak.

The Sun reports:

And Hungarian champions Ferencvaros are interested in snapping up Shved, with former Spurs striker Sergie Rebrov considering making the 22-year-old his third Ukrainian in his squad, with Igor Kharatin and Alexander Zubkov already at the Budapest club.

Ukrainian Rebrov said: “I don’t want to confirm or deny my interest in Marian Shved. Of course I would be happy to work with another Ukrainian in the squad, but there are a number of players in all positions we are looking at. We are always looking to improve the squad.”

Over the last 12 months Celtic have lost Scott Sinclair, Jonny Hayes and Lewis Morgan from the wide positions but it seems that there is little prospect of Shved making a breakthrough.

A loan deal seems more likely than a permanent move with recent events likely to make transfer fees a rarity this summer.
