Chris Jullien was celebrating again last night after being voted in as the best central defender in the SPFL Premiership.

The Celtic stopper topped the poll ahead of team-mate Kris Ajer with the hoops duo forming the Premiership defence alongside the familiar faces of Jeremy Frimpong and Fraser Forster while Borna Barisic topped the poll at left-back.

After watching from the bench as Celtic crashed out of the Champions League qualifiers Jullien came into Neil Lennon’s plans for the SPFL with an outstanding performance in the opening Glasgow derby justifying his £7M price tag.

Ajer’s return to fitness formed the axis for Celtic’s success through the autumn with his French team-mate discovering a goal-touch in the autumn with priceless winning goals against Lazio and in the League Cup Final.

Jullien’s Superman goal celebrations and use of social media formed a special bond with the fans with the new season eagerly awaited for even bigger prizes than his debut season brought him.
