Just like his team Neil Lennon looks on course to sweep the board with the Manager of the Year Awards.
A year ago the Irishman was being introduced to the media as the permanent Celtic boss, today the Scottish Football Writer’s were presenting him with his top award.
It has been a testing year for Lennon, rebuilding a defence as Celtic crashed out of the Champions League while attempting to live up to the standards set by Brendan Rodgers.
By the autumn time he has started to make his mark with back-to-back wins over Lazio securing progress in the Europa League as the hoops hit top form domestically as well.
The League Cup was won, it wasn’t pretty but it completed Lennon’s trophy haul with the three-handed item escaping him during his first spell in charge.
At the end of December he suffered his biggest set-back with defeat in the Glasgow derby followed by three weeks where every aspect of his management was being criticised.
Returning from Dubai Celtic were almost flawless. Nine wins and a draw from a tough run of SPFL Premiership fixtures plus a place in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup.
The season was suspended on March 13 denying Lennon and his team of the success that seemed inevitable. The end of season honours are stacking up with the promise of more on-field glory when the new campaign opens in August.
