There are many ways to contrast the fortunes of the two Glasgow clubs with current trophies the most obvious starting point.
On that front all of the domestic trophies have been sitting in the Celtic boardroom since May 2017 with little sign that they’ll be moving elsewhere.
Whatever metric you care to use Celtic are streets ahead, for 20 years now the average attendance at Celtic Park has been 10,000 more than across the city. Around Celtic Park the area has been transformed for the better, Ibrox looks delapidated and run down after decades of neglect on the Stadium and surroundings.
Kit wise not much more needs to be added. Adidas is the international brand associated with success, down in Liverpool two Likely Lads are struggling to capture the concept of lining letters up in a straight line with the expression on Ryan Jack’s face telling all.
Without any prior warning Celtic and Adidas came up with a smart professional video to announce their partnership with JD.
Over the last month the Likely Lads at Castore have been going around podcasts and fan websites to talk about themselves without a distribution network. The club doesn’t own a single high street store, the new look all-singing, all-crashing website has yet to surface while the Castore network is still in the design phase.
