Neil McCann believes that losing Fraser Forster will cost Celtic 10-in-a-row.

The former Dundee boss was sharing his views with Radio Scotland listeners but there was clearly another agenda at play with Scott Bain currently first choice at Celtic.

During the 2017/18 season Bain fell foul of McCann who put the keeper on the bench for reserve matches after a verbal confrontation in the dressing room.

Paul McGowan gave Si Ferry a ringside account of what happened between the two men, after being sent on loan to Hibs Bain joined Celtic on the final day of the January 2018 transfer window and has made a big contribution to the Treble Treble success.

Discussing the season ahead McCann said:

It’s the omission of Forster from that starting line-up that I think is absolutely huge. I look at the Rangers squad and it is virtually unchanged – not a lot of changes other than one or two additions.

Rangers are every bit as good as Celtic on their day and they have proved it. They have to find the longevity and stamina for a season and deal with the pressure, but I think the fans can create a lot of pressure and, if the fans are not there, it could help Rangers.

James McFadden and Willie Miller both tipped Celtic to win the title despite the return of Moi Elyounoussi on loan being the only transfer business completed so far.

It seems that Celtic are involved in negotiations to sign Vassilis Barkas from AEK Athens while the door hasn’t been entirely closed on Fraser Forster making another move to Celtic.
