Rather than state the obvious Neil McCann claimed that Alfredo Morelos had bulked up as he previewed the opening SPFL match of the season.
Since the turn of the year it as been obvious that the Colombian has been carrying excess weight with a near five month break due to Lockdown not doing him any favours.
With Jermain Defoe out with a hamstring injury Steven Gerrard had little option but to start with Morelos with McCann happy to provide some incredible spin for listeners to Radio Scotland:
It looks like Alfredo Morelos has bulked up. That could be muscle because he is still a young man. He certainly looks a bit bigger than he was last season.
Morelos was barely involved in the match, scurrying around far from the penalty box, falling over when tackled and arriving late to send some Aberdeen players to the deck.
His mobility was obviously not all it should be as he extended his long run without scoring a goal in the SPFL.
Ryan Kent scored the only goal of the game but if any of the clubs allegedly watching Morelos took a look at the match they’ll be keeping their interest on hold until the former HJK Helsinki starlet sheds some excess timber.
