Alan Nixon has condemned reports of a £10m bid from Leeds United for Ryan Kent as Fake News.

With absolutely no bids coming in for Alfredo Morelos or Borna Barasik attention turned to the former Liverpool winger in midweek.

Almost a year ago, after snapping up Jake Hastie, Greg Stewart, Sheyi Ojo, Brandon Barker and Jordan Jones the Ibrox club returned to Liverpool to sign up Kent the day after losing to Celtic in the first derby of the season.

The fee was reported at £7m but with no other interest in the former Bristol City flop that figure looks dubious with Liverpool likely to have put in place generous repayment terms.

Kent flopped again last season with seven goals and no assists according to Transfermarkt as Celtic celebrated winning 9-in-a-row.

Nixon was brought up in Scotland but has emerged as something of a transfer guru for the north of England over the last 20 years. Clearly there is nothing in the £10m fake bid.

With strong contacts at all levels of the game he broke the news In June that Gavin Strachan was about to become first team coach at Celtic.

There has been next to no reaction from Leeds to the alleged interest, it looks like this yarn can be filed alongside so many fantasies from Ibrox over the last couple of seasons as they attempt to bring in Dembele dollars.
