Celtic are reported to have failed in a bid to sign Christophe Herelle with the defender opting to join Brest rather than move to Scotland.
Recent transfer speculation has almost exclusively centred on bringing in a new striker even though Neil Lennon is light on options in central defence.
Kris Ajer and Chris Jullien are the clear first choices but beyond that options are limited. Hatem Abd Elhamed prefer to play elsewhere while Stephen Welsh has just one competitive match to his name.
OGC Nice defender Christophe Hérelle has rejected Celtic, who pushed very hard to sign him, choosing Brest instead – medical now expected to occur on Sunday, according to RMC.

Herelle (27) moved to Nice two years ago in a £4.5m deal but with uncertainty about the future the 2020 transfer market looks like being geared towards buyers.
Celtic have been prominent in the French market in recent seasons with £16m bringing Jullien and Odsonne Edouard to Glasgow.
Neil Lennon will be questioned on his transfer activity tomorrow at a media conference ahead of Sunday’s match at Kilmarnock.
