Alan Nixon had mixed news on Celtic’s transfer activities with English clubs now shaping their squads with pre-season training and matches underway.
With Neil Lennon confirming Celtic’s interest in Shane Duffy it is down to the clubs to agree terms with the player unlikely to need his arm twisted too much to move to Glasgow.
Nixon has extensive contacts across the English game and appears to use his Twitter account as a transfer surgery to catch up, deny or confirm speculation.

Albian Ajeti was initially discussed as a loan move before being converted to a permanent move, if the Duffy deal develops in the same way there won’t be many disappointed Celtic fans.
Losing Edouard would be a major concern but so far there isn’t any sign that the young striker is looking to move on.
The brutal treatment from Mark Connolly and lack of protection from Andrew Dallas yesterday won’t help matters but when he does leave Celtic it’s unlikely that he’ll be moving to a side whose main ambition is to avoid relegation.
