Albian Ajeti faces a race against time to be fit for the Glasgow derby in 20 days time.

The striker scored Celtic’s second goal in the 3-0 win over Hibs but immediately pulled up and was replaced by Odsonne Edouard.

It was Ajeti’s fifth goal in just his third Celtic start but the former West Ham striker will now miss out the matches against Sarajevo and St Johnstone with the clock ticking down towards the Glasgow derby on October 17.

The Sun reports:

Speaking about Ajeti, Lennon told Celtic TV: “I think it looks like a hamstring for Albian so it could be a couple of weeks for him.”

On Ryan Christie, he added: “He was winded and he felt a little bit sore on the stomach. We’ll have to wait and see. I think he’ll be fine for Thursday.”

With Ajeti a doubt the onus again returns to Odsonne Edouard who has been below his best form since being injured against Dundee United.

Patryk Kilmala was given a late run out today with Leigh Griffiths on the bench for the first time this season.

James Forrest also looks like being out for a couple of weeks with Chris Jullien missing his third successive game today through a back injury.
