Stewart Robertson has revealed exciting new plans for Edmiston House- again.
Every new regime at Ibrox comes out with bold plans for the iconic social club turned call centre which apparently hosts mystic powers.
Back in 2012 Charles Green announced plans to turn the fading eye-sore into a world leading Cancer Research Unit but that got as far as the six star hotel and Super Casino proposed by Dave Murray.
Robbo decided to speak to his in-house media and ensured that no mention was made of the catastrophe over the Castore kit deal that was a game changer in high end sportswear less than two months ago
Brimming with excitement the Managing Director told the club website:
Today, we submitted our plans to Glasgow City Council for a fabulous building which we will use as a fanzone on match-days and also include a state-of-the-art Rangers museum, a café, a multipurpose conference and concert venue and new retail facilities over two floors.
The opening of the new multi-functional facility will be a major milestone in our 150th anniversary year. We expect the building to be fitted-out and fully operational in the first half of 2022. The demolition of the existing Edmiston House this autumn permits the re-orientation of the new building towards the axis of the stadium, and closer to Edmiston Drive.
Putting all of those functions into the one building will be quite an achievement but after feeding off Murray’s moonbeams Ibrox fans are thrilled by today’s announcement.
