Ally McCoist has evolved into a health expert to lecture the First Minister of Scotland over Lockdown regulations.

The man that failed to win the Irn-Bru Petrotank Challenge trophy in three attempts has no known medical background but was given air-time this morning by TalkSPORT to expose his ignorance.

New regulations came in at midnight on Monday which were aimed at reducing indoor meetings from outside the family bubble but typically the cheekie chappie chose to selectively criticise the rules without explaining the detail.

Listening in to TalkSPORT this morning The Sun reports McCoist saying:

She’s shut down Glasgow, she’s shut down West Dunbartonshire, East Renfrewshire. It’s absolutely bizarre. I was sitting watching the news last night and there was an old couple and the boy’s saying, ‘I can’t visit my daughter’.

And it’s a tragedy, right. I’m not kidding you on, she lived 30 yards away but her boundary was in North Lanarkshire and he was in Glasgow. The whole thing’s becoming farcical. In answer to your question, I don’t know when we’re going to get punters back in the stadium!”

As a football manager McCoist led his highly paid side to Petrotank Cup defeats against Queen of the South, Raith Rovers and Alloa. Soon after losing to Alloa he invoked a clause in his contract that provided him with 12 months on full pay. That decision came soon after his side was drawn against Celtic in the semi-final of the 2015 League Cup.

In 2012 he was one of the first employees to TUPE his contract over to Charles Green’s new club, since leaving Ibrox he hasn’t had any direct involvement in coaching or management.
