Neil Lennon has described Celtic’s need for a left sided defender as a vacancy.

Boli Bolingoli’s departure on loam coupled with Jonny Hayes moving to Aberdeen has left Greg Taylor as the only recognised left-back at the club.

At right-back Hatem Abd Elhamed and Jeremie Frimpong have been rotating but that option isn’t open on the other side of the pitch.

During their coverage of the win over St Mirren BBC Scotland reported:

Now that left-back Boli Bolingoli has left Celtic…

“There’s a vacancy there now that needs to be filled, so we are looking in that position,” says Celtic manager Neil Lennon.

With just over three weeks to go in the Transfer Window Celtic have a net spend of £13m plus the fees involved in getting Shane Duffy and Moi Elyounoussi on loan from the EPL.

Despite the usual rumours and speculation the only offer that Celtic have received is for Tom Rogic with the midfielder declining the option of a move to Qatar.

Jere Urowen of Genk is the latest left-back linked with Celtic. With a heavy schedule of fixtures, it seems that Nicky Hammond and Peter Lawwell are dealing with transfer activities.
