Sky Sports News have picked up on Celtic’s apparent interest in signing Omar Colley.
With Shane Duffy signing on loan from Brighton on Wednesday the prospect of bringing in a Sampdoria central defender will lead to inevitable speculation that Kris Ajer is on his way out of Celtic.
Colley had had an unspectacular career in Finland, Sweden and Belgium but moved to Sampdoria in an 8m euro deal two years ago, last season he made 31 appearances in Serie A which was more than any other Samp defender.
Celtic have made an enquiry for Sampdoria centre-back Omar Colley, @SkySportsNews has been told.
It’s understood Sampdoria have put a price tag of around £10million on the 27-year-old, but are open to negotiation.
The Hoops have made no bids for the player at this stage.

Celtic’s interest in Colley has been reported by a couple of minor Italian publications but the coverage from Sky gives it fresh credability.
Anthony Joseph was quickly on top of Celtic’s interest in Albian Ajeti although every news outlet has had it’s problems, in December 2017 Sky Sports News were very certain on Celtic agreeing a deal with Brighton for Moussa Dembele that was emphatically denied.
As they’ve shown with Duffy and Moi Elyounoussi Celtic are keen to use the loan market which looks like gaining in popularity during this transfer window with very few certainties for the season ahead.
Colley seems to be a very similar player to Duffy which would certainly add some steel to Neil Lennon’s defence.
