Chris Sutton has called out Kris Boyd for running down Celtic’s bid to win the Scottish Cup.

The two pundits have a bit of history with the former Ibrox striker avoiding BT Sport since he made the claim that if a Barrie Mackay shot had gone three yards differently Celtic would never have crushed the Warburton Revolution 5-1.

Boyd seems to have a problem with the SFA following the same route as UEFA by finishing their 2019/20 competitions after the 2020/21 season had started. He may remember Bayer Leverkusen ending the Europa League Ibrox dream back in August.

Celtic reached the semi-final by winning 1-0 away to St Johnstone at the start of Marc, following on from wins over Partick Thistle and Clyde.

No Scottish club has ever won the Scottish Cup four years running but after cup final wins over Aberdeen, Motherwell and Hearts Neil Lennon’s squad are two matches away from that achievement.

In the other semi-final Hearts and Hibs meet at Hampden today with the 5pm kick-off unlikely to do the pitch many favours ahead of tomorrow’s Celtic v Aberdeen match.
