Just four Celtic players have earned a place in Kris Boyd’s combined Glasgow XI.
The former Kilmarnock striker has never been able to offer Celtic any praise despite dominating Scottish football since 2016 as he was stepping up his media work.
Shane Duffy, Scott Brown, Callum McGregor and Odsonne Edouard are worthy of a place in the side which will come as no surprise to any Celtic fan.
Boyd will be part of the Sky Sports team on duty on Saturday as Neil Lennon’s side attempt to go top of the Premiership table despite having played a game less than their city rivals.
It’s unlikely that many of the current Celtic squad will pay any attention to the thoughts of Boyd who struggled to hide his contempt for Leigh Griffiths when the hoops won 3-1 at Kilmarnock in January.
The Celtic striker gestured towards the Sky Sports co-commentator after scoring, in his post-match assessment Boyd was all over the place with Griffiths’ statistics.
Last December, in his column in The Sun Boyd warned Griffiths that he had until the end of that year to save his Celtic career. Griffiths didn’t score a single goal in December but netted seven times after the winter break and came off the bench to turn a draw at St Johnstone into three vital points.
