Leigh Griffiths has joined the social media craze of ‘How it started and how it’s going’.
Over the last week the archives have been getting raided as people remind themselves of their often dim and distant past.
Fourteen years ago Livingston gave an opportunity for a peroxide headed striker whose goals have been stamped all across Scottish football for the best part of 14 years earning the respect and admiration of fans at Livi, Dundee, Hibs and Celtic. Almost uniquely in the game Griffiths doesn’t get abuse from supporters of his former clubs.
With his two free-kicks against England in mind many Scotland fans are pining to see Griffiths in action next month away to Serbia.
The big question at the moment isn’t about Griffiths’ past but his readiness and availability for Saturday’s Glasgow derby.
2020 has certainly been mixed for Griffiths, in January he bounced back despite the signing of Patryk Klimala, he scored for fun as Celtic made it 9-in-a-row before Lockdown set him back with another striker, Albian Ajeti arriving at Celtic.
Griffiths is the only striker in training this week- on Saturday night he may well be back among the headlines.
