Neil Lennon has told Sky Sports that he would like to bring in a couple of players on Transfer Deadline Day.

In recent days the Celtic boss has talked almost exclusively of adding one more player to his squad while retaining the players that he already has.

With the Europa League and Scottish Cup to be played for before Christmas and a tenth title to chase Monday October 5 could be a decisive day for Celtic’s ambitions.

A look at the bench Celtic had at St Johnstone demonstrated the depth that Lennon can call on with the sheer force of those fresh faces securing an eight consecutive victory.

Fans will be all over social media for signing hints, fuelling expectations after today’s win The Sun reports:

Speaking on Sky Sports after Celtic’s 2-0 win over St Johnstone, he said: “Yeah. I think either way, we want to keep everybody but we do want to get a couple of players in if we can but at least one.”

However, when asked if West Ham star Snodgrass could be the player to arrive at Celtic Park, Lennon refused to be drawn.

He added: “You can throw names at me all you like, you’re not going to a straight answer out of me! I’m sure I’ll meet with Peter (Lawwell) and Nick Hammond tomorrow and we’ll look over a few things.”

With players breaking up for international duty today there could be complications with signing talks although Celtic managed to complete the loan signing off Shane Duffy during the last international break.
