Like everyone else in these strange times Rab Douglas has been looking in from the outside on the events at Celtic.

Watching games on television, tracking social media and listening to the tired verdicts of pundits that barely stray off the beaten track.

Following the Celtic matches has been tough going at times but a look at some of the supporter reactions has sometimes been horrendous.

The tension of going for a 10th title is high but unable to attend matches and socialise as usual has turned social media toxic if the team doesn’t turn in a 10 out of 10 performance.

Beating Hibs 3-0 was greeted with joy but the Europa League qualifiers against Riga and Sarajevo either side of that match brought some savage criticism with Douglas puzzled by the anger sometimes aimed at Neil Lennon:

He told the Glasgow Times:

I would love it if Neil went on to write himself into the realms of history by delivering the tenth title. He deserves it. I don’t know that he always gets the credit that he deserves as Celtic manager.

Some of the things I have read over the last few months have been staggering, to be honest. It certainly hasn’t been all that bad for a crisis, has it?

Celtic have won eight and drawn their other SPFL match in this ‘crisis’ season, adding one more win on Saturday should ease the tension among supporters and allow the manager some credit before attention turns to AC Milan on Thursday and the start of the Europa League group stage.
