Steven Gerrard has had a loan bid for Juninho Bacuna rejected by Huddersfield.
Giving a transfer update yesterday Gary McAllister stressed that it would be quality over quantity on Transfer Deadline Day with only first team ready players under consideration.
Bacuna is out of contract at the end of this season but it seems that Huddersfield found the terms on offer from Ibrox easy to resist.
After beating Dundee United on September 12 Gerrard went public with his plea for new signings, since then he has helped deliver Europa League group stage football for the third season running. That plea for players has been blanked by the Ibrox board.
Rangers. Search for an attacking midfielder. Inquiry for Bacuna at Huddersfield. Loan with a view. Rejected at this point.

I think there will be many names linked to Rangers today as we look at contingencies if our top picks, such as Zungu, don’t happen. I’ve never heard of Bacuna but judging on his YouTube compilation, which we all know can’t be trusted, he does appear to be a Gerrard type player.

So far Gerrard has spent around £10m snapping up Cedric Itten, Kemar Roofe and Ianis Hagi with the only transfer fee coming in being for £180,000 from Hull City for Greg Docherty.
Attempts to create interest in Ryan Kent, Alfredo Morelos and Borna Barasic have been ignored outside of Scotland.
