It looked like a nice easy gig for Kris Boyd tonight as he gloated through the Betfred Cup action from Paisley for Sky Sports News.
Pure unbeaten aw season by the way, the former Portland Timber’s goal-ace had a Treble dream to contemplate as he watched Conor Goldson open the scoring for Steven Gerrard’s side.
Things got a bit tricky when rookie ref David Dickenson awarded Saint Mirren a penalty five minutes from the interval with Greegsy diving the wrong way for Jamie McGrath to equalise.
Eight minutes into the second half the first signs of concern emerged when McGrath put the home side in front but after a long sweaty second half the consummate professional that is Steven Davo Davis equalised with the match surely heading for extra-time.
St Mirren had other ideas, Conor McCarthy popped in the fifth goal of the night and Boydy realised that the gloating Selik fans that have shadowed him for the last nine years were back watching his pain.
Kris Boyd has run out of monster munch
