Leigh Griffiths has taken Neil Lennon to task over his lack of game time.

The striker came off the bench to score for Celtic against Hearts at Hampden then stepped up to net their opening penalty of the shoot out.

After making an appearance off the bench in the 1-1 home draw against St Johnstone, Griffiths sat out the matches against Lille and Kilmarnock with Patryk Klimala and Odsonne Edouard leading the line.

Lennon brough Griffiths to Celtic in January 2014 with the two men having a mutual respect that has been put to the test over the last 12 months.

Reflecting on his cup final role BBC Scotland report Griffiths saying:

He (Lennon) said after the game that I need to get fitter. Well, that green stuff, the pitch, I need to be on that to get match fit.

After 97 minutes at Hampden yesterday Lennon will need to decide whether to start with Edouard against Ross County on Wednesday night.

Griffiths has only started one match this season but was withdrawn at half-time in the Europa League tie at home to AC Milan. Yesterday’s goal was the fourth time this season that the former Hibs striker has scored coming off the bench.
