David Turnbull showed that there is still space for humour around Celtic when he accepted his Man of the Match award for his performance against Ross County.
There hasn’t been much to laugh about around Celtic this season but with Scott Brown off camera Turnbull struggled to keep a straight face when he was interviewed by Celtic TV.
It was the former Motherwell midfielder that opened the scoring, perfectly anticipating Jeremie Frimpong’s cut-back to find the net from six yards out.
In just his fifth start since his summer move Turnbull played a key role in Celtic’s 2-0 win, discovering what it is like to try and break down a packed defence with County having 10 men behind the ball for most of the match.
On Saturday Celtic will face a similar challenge on the plastic pitch of Hamilton Accies with Turnbull likely to be central to Neil Lennon’s plans- with or without prompting from the club captain.
