David Moberg Karlsson has been linked with a move to Celtic.

The Sparta Prague winger impressed against Neil Lennon’s side in the Europa League with the link appearing in a speculative report from Czech publisher iSport.

Karlsson had been linked with a return to his native Sweden but with a contract that runs until June 2022 his club will have the main say on whether he remains with them.

After examining his contract and possible valuation (£1.5m) iSport introduced:

It is very likely that in the case of a really interesting offer, sports director Tomáš Rosický would not prevent players from moving forward. Maybe if a Celtic came in who, according to behind-the-scenes reports, watches Karlsson closely. No wonder in the mutual double matches within the basic group of European Northerners rioted. At home and abroad, he scored on assistance and was one of the best players on the field.

Former Arsenal midfielder Rosicky is now the Sporting Director at Sparta with strong contacts through the game from a decade in England following five years with Borussia Dortmund.

As a right-winger Karlsson will be of some interest to Celtic but at the age of 26 his career hasn’t scaled many heights which includes four appearances on loan at Kilmarnock from Sunderland during the 2013/14 season.

Transfer stories from foreign sources always carry some weight but in this case it looks highly speculative based on possible Celtic interest on the back of two impressive appearances against Lennon’s side at what appears to be the lowest point of the season.
