Stoke City are in talks with Charlton Athletic over a transfer fee for Alfie Doughty.
During the summer Transfer Window Charlton boss Lee Bowyer urged the winger to ignore interest from Celtic and slammed the hoops over a silly offer for the then 20-year-old.
Doughty impressed last season as he broke into the Charlton side that was eventually relegated but has been out of action since October due to injury.
Stoke City have made a bid for Charlton Athletic winger Alfie Doughty.
They’re among a number of clubs interested in the player and speaking to Charlton about a move.
The 21-year-old has not signed a new contract offered by the club and his current deal expires in July.

As a non-English club Celtic can get Doughty signed onto a pre-contract agreement while clubs like Stoke have to agree a fee or wait until the summer and sign him as a free agent with only a Development Fee due to Charlton.
With James Forrest and Mikey Johnston hampered by injury Neil Lennon has spoken of the need to bring in a winger during the January window but with Doughty also injured it’s unlikely that he would arrive ‘oven ready’.
