Leigh Griffiths is aiming to complete a decade at Celtic and earn a Testimonial.

The striker joined the Hoops in January 2014, has scored 121 goals and is under contract until June 2022.

Over the last two years Griffiths has been absent for lengthy spells, Brendan Rodgers announced in December 2018 that the striker was taking time out with Neil Lennon scathing about his the condition that he returned from Lockdown in.

Griffiths has bounced back from all of those set-backs, coming off the bench in the final of the Scottish Cup to scored Celtic’s third goal and again in the penalty shoot-out and has started the last four matches alongside Odsonne Edouard.

At the age of 30 he has been written off many times but in an interview with the Daily Record the Scotland striker has another Celtic contract in his mind:

I’m not going to get carried away. I’ve still got a lot of work to do to make sure I’m in the manager’s plans but long-term that’s where you want to be – at a club like Celtic for eight, nine, 10 years, getting talked about in terms of testimonials.

It would be great but I’ve got a lot of hard work in front of me. I didn’t think it was curtains because I knew that if I knuckled down and got myself back to where I was in January, February then I would be OK. I think 150 goals is very doable. If I stay injury free, I’ll get chances.

So far this season Griffiths has scored six goals, plus one in a penalty shoot-out.
