Don Robertson was the latest SFA official to apply the consistency that Steven Gerrard has been calling for.

With four minutes left to play and the home side hanging on desperately to a 1-0 lead Killie launched the ball forward in search of an equaliser.

Substitute Daniel Whitehall cut inside the corner of the penalty box, as he looked to get onto the ball Leon Balogun bundled into his back, sending the Killie forward to the ground.

Dave MacKinnon said:

As stonewall a penalty as you will ever see, only the referee will know why that wasn’t given.

MacKinnon was co-commentating for Kilmarnock TV, a former Chief Executive of Killie, Dundee and more recently Morton.

Robertson didn’t want to know making it 29 matches this season without a penalty being awarded. The Ibrox side now have a 21 point lead at the top of the SPFL Premiership, a league without a sponsor.

At the end of the match the Killie players surrounded Robertson who takes his place alongside Steven McLean, Kevin Clancy and David Munro in giving very consistent decisions in favour of the Ibrox club.
