Celtic have been linked with an interest in Tyreik Wright.

The Aston Villa winger is out of contract at the end of the season and would be available for a UEFA agreed Development fee.

That avenue worked perfectly for Celtic with Moussa Dembele where they got two exceptional seasons and a £19m profit on the former Fulham striker. A year later Celtic signed Kundai Benyu from Ipswich Town under the same circumstances.

The Daily Mail reports:

Everton and Celtic are among the clubs keeping tabs on Aston Villa youngster Tyreik Wright. Winger Wright is attracting attention with his Villa deal up at the end of the season.

The 19 year-old, a direct and speedy left-footed right winger, joined Villa in 2018 and progressed through their youth setup since arriving from Irish club Lakewood. Wright is currently enjoying his first taste of senior football having been loaned out to League Two Walsall last month and has quickly impressed, setting up two goals in his first two appearances.

With Karamoko Dembele and Armstrong Oko Flex expected to leave Celtic in the summer and Moi Elyounoussi due back at Southampton the hoops will certainly be looking for wide players in the summer.

As it stands James Forrest and Mikey Johnston are the only wingers under contract for next term with a major rebuild expected.

Wright signed a two year contract with Villa in the summer of 2019 when he joined from Irish side Lakewood.
