Celtic are believed to have revived their interest in Pawel Dawidowicz.

The Verona defender was linked with Celtic during the summer but the signing of Shane Duffy seemed to end interest in strengthening that area of the team.

With Duffy returning to Brighton at the end of this season and Kris Ajer expected to be the subject of transfer interest central defence is an area that Celtic will need to invest in during the summer transfer window.

Tutto Hellas Verona reports:

Pawel Dawidowicz could leave Verona at the end of the season. At the moment it is only a hypothesis, but according to what our editorial team gathered, the Hellas defender ended up in the crosshairs of Celtic Glasgow . The Scottish club had already searched for the player last year without success. There were polls from Celtic but not a real deal. Now the scenario could change, with Celtic that seems ready to return to the office for Dawidowicz who, however, has never hidden the desire to stay at Verona.

Dawidowicz is under contract until June 2022 which is the same situation as Ajer with the coming summer time to sign a new deal or move on.

The 25-year-old joined Verona from Benfica in July 2019 and has made 17 appearances so far in Serie A.

During the January transfer window Celtic were close to signing Ben Davies from Preston but lost out once Liverpool came on the scene.
