Roma are the latest club to be linked with an interest in signing Odsonne Edouard this summer.
The striker is under contract until June 2022 with everything about Celtic’s recent transfer business suggesting that he will love on during the next transfer window.
Although this season has saw a dip in form he has become the leading scorer for the French u-21 side with a pedigree that few 22-year-old’s can match following four seasons in Glasgow after coming through the Paris Saint Germain Academy.
The Sun reports:
REPORTS in Italy claim AS Roma have joined the chase to sign Celtic frontman Odsonne Edouard. The Giallorossi are set to move on from veteran Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko this summer and Centro Suono Sport claims that general director Tiago Pinto is a huge admirer of the Hoops’ frontman.
They claim that Pinto is “following” Edouard with a view to making a move this summer. The 22-year-old Frenchman – who has nine goals in his last ten games – is sure to be in high demand next summer.
He appears unlikely to extend his contract with the Hoops, which will leave them vulnerable to a transfer offer for a player who is entering the final year of his deal.
After two stagnant transfer windows following Lockdown there is little in the way of indicators to suggest what sort of fee Celtic would get for Edouard.
In August 2019 Celtic were paid £25m by Arsenal for Kieran Tierney, matching that figure would seem like a good return with so much uncertainty over the transfer market.
