John Kennedy has confessed that Celtic have lost too many goals from set-pieces.

Neil Lennon’s last match in charge saw the hoops lose out to a free-kick with the after match analysis of Jordan White’s goal not reflecting well on anyone.

Since returning from Dubai Livingston, Hibs and Ross County have all cashed in on the simple tactic of drilling a set-piece into the heart of the Celtic penalty box.

No club in the Premiership has lost a greater percentage of goals from set-pieces than Celtic with Kennedy looking for an improvement starting on Saturday at home to Aberdeen.

We’ve given too many cheap goals away. It is facing up to the honesty of that, we’ve conceded too many goals from set-plays. For what teams offer in an attacking sense against us in games we’ve conceded too many goals.

In the main control of the games has been good but it’s just a case of dealing with what comes our way in our own box, make sure we are a bit more clinical at the top end. Then from that hopefully we can breed more confidence in the players and just build on that.

Kennedy will have had a full week to work with the squad before the Aberdeen match but his defensive options are limited to Kris Ajer, Stephen Welsh and Shane Duffy.

Aberdeen return to Celtic Park 10 days after suffering a 1-0 defeat with Derek McInnes under almost as much pressure as Lennon was as they struggle to keep pace with Hibs for third place and an automatic place in next season’s Europa League.
