Vakoun Bayo continued his impressive scoring rate with a goal against Amiens yesterday.
The on-loan striker came off the bench in the 70th minute then scored the third and final goal of the day in the 86th minute, his fifth goal of 2021.
What the standard is in the French Second Division is hard to judge but there is no doubting the quality shown by the striker in yesterday’s goal.
Taming a high ball with his right thigh created an angle, the Amiens keeper seemed to lose his bearings but Boyo had one thing in mind as he stabbed the ball into the net with a right foot shot.
It is two full years since Celtic signed the Ivorian from Slovak side Dunajska Streda, since then Patryk Klimala and Albian Ajeti have been brought in without either looking like a partner to or successor for Odsonne Edouard.
With Bayo’s Celtic contract running until June 2022 this summer would look like the time to sell him on or offer him a contract extension.
