Dom McKay’s Twitter timeline wasn’t going overboard following Scotland’s first Six Nations win in France since 1999.

After more than a decade with the odd-shaped ball McKay is about to embark on a new challenge. It might be a glib modern phrase but in this case, it promises to be more than a challenge.

Becoming CEO at Celtic at any time would be demanding, at the current time it looks almost like a start-up firm in need to direction and purpose in every area.

Since his new role was announced McKay has looked on from a distance as Celtic have lost a manager, SPFL title and club captain.

By the time July 1 comes around Celtic’s first team squad could be down close to 10 players with a number likely to be involved at this summer’s European Championships.

Bringing in a new manager and a Director of Football will get the ball rolling but time is moving fast as the last month has proved.

With the Six Nations over there seems little reason for McKay not to move over to Celtic three months in advance of his start date- there is plenty waiting for him in the ‘To Do’ file in his new office.
