Kris Ajer has held his hands up after Norway’s 3-0 ‘home’ loss to Turkey.

The match was played in Malaga but it was far from a holiday for the Celtic defender who returned to the international side after being on the bench against Gibraltar.

Ajer has been one of the few Celtic players to emerge with some credit this season but has taken his share of blame for the frequency of goals lost from set pieces.

The Norwegian defence was taken apart by Turkey with the second goal from a corner kick making fo grim viewing.

Norwegian website VG reports Ajer saying:

I have to be better at the set piece. We need to be better at both of the other two goals. It is too weak, said a self-critical Ajer to TV 2.

On Tuesday Norway are away to Montenegro knowing that they must win to keep alive their hopes of remaining in contention for qualification.

Turkey set the early pace with a 4-2 win over Holland on Matchday One with those two nations expected to fight it out for the sole qualifying place.
