Police Scotland have opened an investigation into an incident at Ibrox following Slavia Prague’s Europa League victory.

The Czech side were locked out of their dressing room after the final whistle, late on Thursday night reports emerge from Prague that one of their players had been attacked.

One other incident has been given blanket coverage in the Scottish media but the claims from Prague are now being advanced after statements and documents were forwarded from the Czech Embassy in London.

Covering the incident, The Sun reports:

A spokesperson for the force said: “We have received a report of an assault following the match between Rangers and Slavia Prague at Ibrox on Thursday, 18 March, 2021. Officers are liaising with both teams and an investigation is under way.”

UEFA have also launched an investigation into the events at Ibrox with Kemar Roofe and Leon Balogun awaiting details of their suspensions after being sent off against Slavia.

The football authorities like to keep matters in-house which could see some severe sanctions come down on any guilty parties from Ibrox.
