Jack Hendry could have offers from three English clubs to consider in the summer.

The defender has fully recovered from knee surgery a year ago to make a big impact on loan at Oostende with the Belgian League heavily scouted by English clubs.

Hendry has had a miserable time since joining Celtic from Dundee three years ago. With Jozo Simunovic released last summer Hendry was so far out of the picture that the loan move to Belgium barely rated a mention.

With his contract expiring in June 2022 this summer will be pivotal over what direction his future take.

The Daily Mail reports:

Burnley are among Premier League clubs monitoring Celtic defender Jack Hendry. The 6ft 4ins centre back has been starring for Belgian side Oostende where he is on loan this season and a string of man of the match performances have alerted scouts in the English top-flight.

Brighton and Sheffield United are also taking an interest in the 25-year old Scotland international, with Celtic’s hierarchy due to make a decision on his future this summer.

With Kris Ajer strongly linked with a move away in the summer defence will be a key area of activity for Celtic under their next manager.

Stephen Welsh and Greg Taylor look like the only players involved this season who’ll be available in July. Shane Duffy, Diego Laxalt and Jonjoe Kenny will return to their parent clubs with Chris Jullien recovering from a long term injury.

A new Celtic contract for Hendry would mark an incredible turnaround for Hendry who has started just 18 matches in three years.
