Steven Gerrard has made a bizarre reference to ‘you get all the fans joining in’ to the incident at Ibrox last night involving Glen Kamara and Ondrej Kudela.

Last night’s match was played Behind Closed Doors, other than a few invited guests there have been no fans attending a match inside Ibrox for more than a year, the last time was at the 3-2 defeat from Bayer Leverkusen on 12 March 2020.

Following a double foul by Connor Goldson, Kudela whispered something to Kamara who reacted angrily alongside several Ibrox team-mates.

After watching his side completely outclassed by Slavia Prague and have two players sent off at home Gerrard has grasped the late flashpoint to deflect away from the failings of his players.

2 minutes 40 seconds:

The Slavia player has caused this, and he’s also caused a situation like this to escalate even further because straight away you get all the fans joining in and again the races grows and grows and grows. Something needs to happen quickly, that is above me, but 100%, whatever happens moving forward I’ll stand next to Glen Kamara, 100%
