Leicester City are reported to be keen on signing Josh Doig from Hibs according to The Sun.

The 18-year-old has become a regular for Jack Ross this season after switching from Hearts in July 2019.

Doig struggled badly against Jeremie Frimpong when Hibs lost 3-0 to Celtic in September but has gone from strength to strength with a long list of English sides reported to be watching him on a weekly basis.

On January 27 Sky Sports reported that Celtic, Arsenal and Chelsea were watching Doig, the following month Hibs put him on an improved contract that ties him to the club until 2025.

Left-back has turned into something of a problem area for Celtic, since banking £25m for Kieran Tierney they have tried Boli Bolingoli, Jonny Hayes, Greg Taylor and Diego Laxalt in that position with none of those options looking like nailing the position down.

Last season Craig Levein claimed that Celtic made five or six attempts to sign Aaron Hickey who left Celtic for Tynecastle in the summer of 2018. Earlier this season Hickey moved to Bologna.

With half a dozen EPL clubs interested it is hard to see Celtic being able to entice Doig to Glasgow with transfer dealings between the two clubs notoriously difficult.
