Callum McGregor knows what it is like to work with top class strikers.
At various times he has delivered chances to Odsonne Edouard, Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths.
There has been others too, like Vakoun Bayo, Nadir Ciftci, Carlton Cole and Colin Kazim Richards since McGregor was given his chance at the start of the 2014/15 season.
Of all those strikers there is no doubt that Griffiths can be a match for any of them but it comes with clauses such as ‘on his day’ or ‘when he is fit’.
At the age of 30 Griffiths will soon discover if he is wanted by Celtic for next season or not. On his day there is no doubt about the answer but the truth is that it is five years since Griffiths was the force many imagine him to be.
This season Griffiths has scored six goals in the SPFL, last season it was nine. Prior to that it was two, nine and 12 following the 31 goals haul from season 2015/16.
Discussing the striker to the Daily Record, McGregor said:
He absolutely has the quality, it is undoubted. He is the best finisher I have seen. He gets one chance and it is a goal. For him, it is to keep working hard, doing the right things every day and trying to get as much game time as possible.
After that, you just never know, especially with someone of his quality. If we can get him in the (Scotland) squad and firing, then he would be a huge asset.
Just as a natural finisher, he is right up there. He is the best I have played with. He gets chances and just puts them away. That is the difference with the top strikers who have that real killer instinct. He has that.
