Four months after undergoing knee surgery Boli Bolingoli returned to action today for Baseksehir in their 0-0 draw at home to Alanyaspor.
The defender went out on loan under a shadow after failing to self-isolate following a trip to Spain. The SFA postponed two Celtic matches on the back of that with a season long loan to Turkey arranged to get the player out of sight.
While Celtic limped into the Europa League Bolingoli popped up in the Champions League with Baseksehir enjoying an unexpected win over Manchester United.
After reaching the Champions League Baseksehir’s season has gone into a massive slide with today’s point keeping them ahead of Erzurumspor on goal difference for the last relegation place. On Thursday Baseksehir travel to face Erzurumspor.
With two years left to run on his contract Bolingoli will be back at Celtic in the close season but it’s hard to see a future for him in Scotland after a patchy first season and the infamous Spanish trip.
