Boli Bolingoli has returned to full training after four months out with a serious knee injury.

The defender went on loan to Basaksehir after his ill-fated trip to Spain, as Celtic’s season floundered the defender appeared in the Champions League, including a win over Manchester United.

That run came to a halt in December when he suffered a knee injury that required surgery.

Bolingoli returned to Belgium for his rehab but is now back in Turkey ready to return to action with Basaksehir fighting against relegation after last season’s exploits

Discussing Boligoli, Basaksehir boss Aykut Kocaman told The Sun:

Boli has returned to full training. He won’t make the match against Kasimpasa this week, but he will be back in the squad very soon.

He is an important player for us and we need as many players as possible. This was a season that started with the club in the Champions League and now we are battling relegation so we need everyone.

Celtic signed Bolingoli from Rapid Vienna in July 2019 shortly before selling Kieran Tierney to Arsenal for £25m, later that window they signed Greg Taylor from Kilmarnock.

With two years left on his contract Celtic are likely to be looking to move him on with little chance of the support welcoming back someone who caused so much disruption to the season.
