Covidiot Bobby Madden will referee Celtic’s Scottish Cup tie at Ibrox- just as he did on the second day of the year when the home side enjoyed a controversial 1-0 win.

In the second minute the Lanarkshire based whistler opted not to send off Alfredo Morelos for a brutal snap at the Achilles of Jeremie Frimpong. Midway through the second half he had to restrain the Columbian in a bear-hug, soon after being booked Morelos was substituted with his job done. Nir Bitton was sent off in the 62nd minute.

Back in February Madden was stopped in his tracks on route to Dingwall when he should have been self-isolating after a jolly to Greece.

When David Roome tested positive Madden should have self-isolated. After watching fellow traveller Graeme Stewart get away with running the line at Easter Road Madden decided to set off to the Ross County v Celtic match on February 21.

A match fee, expenses and mileage were ready to be picked up when The Sun contacted the SFA about Roome’s positive test result.

Madden had to return home, fourth official David Munro refereed the match with the Lanarkshire based Covidiot missing out on another jolly to a Roma Europa League match.

Tomorrow Madden will be in charge of the Hamilton v Dundee United, Nick Walsh will referee the Celtic v Livingston match.

Fellow Covidiot Stewart will be an assistant referee at Ibrox with Kevin Clancy as fourth official. The cup tie will be played to a finish on the day.
