Robert Grieve of The Sun has been on the front foot with the Eddie Howe story but there seems a little confusion over when he is likely to be announced as Celtic manager. Or even if he will be.

In his newspaper last night there was an update with Howe expected to take the job but not until June, on Twitter Grieve was sharing Harry Redknapp’s views on the former Bournemouth boss as if the move is already over the line.

The search for a new Celtic manager seems to be in the closing stages but six weeks after Neil Lennon resigned there is still a sense of uncertainty.

Late on Monday Grieve provided Sun readers with an update which stalled the process slightly.

Fans are left to search around for any snippet of information with Twitter the main source. Most Scottish reporters are on the look out for a tell-tale piece of information but the deal is complicated by an incoming CEO and the likely need for a Director of Football.

Peter Lawwell stepping down and Nick Hammond’s exit last week leaves big gaps in the decision-making process.

The suspicious nature of fans leaves them waiting and wondering what the next twist will be as they hope for confirmation that Howe is the man to lead Celtic forward.
