Kerry Keenan, Celtic’s Head of Marketing and Multimedia is anticipating that fans will be back inside Celtic Park for the start of next season. The big question is how many?

Earlier today it was announced that Glasgow Green will host a 31-day long FanZone through the duration of the European Championships which starts on June 11.

Celtic’s first home match of next season will be July 19/20 or 26/27 with fans missing out on the entire 2020/21 season.

Today’s news of the FanZone comes despite Glasgow being the only area in Scotland left in Tier 3 as the city tries to keep a lid on the rising pandemic numbers.

No fans were inside Hampden for Saturday’s Scottish Cup Final but in less than three weeks’ time 12,500 fans are expected for the European Championship match between Scotland and the Czech Republic.

After the events of George Square on May 15 Health Boards across west and central Scotland are bracing themselves for a rise in positive test results but the news about the FanZone suggests that the authorities are confident that events will go ahead as planned.
