It looks like May 25 will pass by without the announcement of a new manager at Celtic.

More than three months have passed since Neil Lennon resigned but it seems that the club has still to finalise its future plans despite Eddie Howe being assumed as the manager in waiting.

Bournemouth’s commitments for the season are over, next season they will remain in The Championship with coaches Stephen Purches and Simon Weathersone expected to be part of Howe’s backroom team.

Whether Richard Hughes is included as Director of Football or Technical Director remains to be seen with Fergal Harkin of Manchester City linked with a similar role.

In the Daily Record, Scott Burns reports:

Eddie Howe has asked Celtic to make approaches for Bournemouth trio Stephen Purches, Simon Weatherstone and Richard Hughes.

The incoming Hoops boss is keen to add Purches and Weatherstone to his coaching staff while he wants Hughes to be his head scout.

Howe has met with Celtic officials over the last 24 hours to outline his plans for the Parkhead job. Howe has asked Celtic to make the move now after Bournemouth failed to progress out of the Championship play-offs.

The Cherries hierarchy informed their staff yesterday they will need to look at ways of cutting costs after their failed promotion bid.

John Kennedy was appointed as Interim Manager when Lennon resigned, since February 23 there has been very little coming out of the club with the first matches of next season less than two months away.

Over the last month vacancies have occurred at Wolves, Crystal Palace and Spurs but most reports still expect Howe to join up at Celtic after a season out of management.
