Celtic fans should brace themselves for another couple of weeks waiting for a new manager.

It is more than 80 days since Neil Lennon resigned but it seems that the appointment of a replacement is becoming more and more contrived.

Since Eddie Howe was reported to have held face-to-face talks with Dermot Desmond and Dom McKay there hasn’t been any other credible alternative put forward for the job.

Celtic’s season will technically be over in less than 48 hours but there could be a few more weeks waiting time before Howe is announced as manager.

Tonight, Jackson reports:

Record Sport understands Howe’s appointment as Neil Lennon’s permanent successor remains on hold possibly until the end of the month, depending on Bournemouth’s attempt to secure a route through the play-offs and back into the Premier League.

Jackson seems to have developed some excellent sources inside Celtic, last year he was the only newspaper reporter to get an interview with Peter Lawwell. In June the Hoops CEO spoke about his plan to host a test event before the start of the SPFL season.

Eleven months later no fans have been inside Celtic Park but it is the arrival of Howe or A N Other that the fans are wanting to hear about.
