David Tanner once again highlighted his complete lack of awareness and decency with an afternoon visit to Twitter.
The former Sky Sports Anchorman has used Social Media to build up his appeal but with just 12,000 followers he won’t be going Mainstream again any time soon. With content almost as extreme right wing as Douglas Ross he has a fairly limited market in Scotland to aim at.
Throughout much of today the fate of two people in the Pollokshields area of Glasgow held the attention of thousands on Twitter.
News of an attempt at Deportation brought thousands flocking to the street that they were living in with Police Scotland quickly on the scene.
As he sat and giggled with Neil McCann on Sky Sports Tanner never showed any great awareness for current affairs beyond Walter’s next signing or a gag or three with big Eck.
To make a comparison between a football crowd and an attempt at Deportation was typical of Tanner, until Twitter introduces autocue to keep him on the straight and narrow he really should stay well clear.
This weekend he’ll be presenting coverage on Hibs TV of Celtic’s visit. With club TV scaling down next season it is likely that Tanner’s talents will have to move on downwards.
